Hi, I’m Jan Dreiling and this is Jan’s World of Painting!

I first took up painting during the Fall of 1997.  At that time, my son was a senior in high school and my daughter was a freshman.  They would both be soon leaving the house and I needed something to occupy my time.  (Both are now married.)  My husband and I will be celebrating 30 years of marriage next summer.

I have always had a good sense for color and design, but never really understood why.  After 9 years of painting, it now all makes sense.  Apparently, I was following all the rules, before I even knew what the rules were!
